Westhaven
We are very excited to report that the Resident Led Planning of a new Westhaven Community has begun with resident meetings in September. Building on the approach at South First Street and Sixth Street we are implementing a 7 week educational curriculum for residents to have a foundation for making planning decisions for the their futures. 18 residents have participated so far in an orientation session, a session on history and this week we will jump into zoning. Activities have been developed to give hands on learning opportunities. Once the foundation for planning has been laid, residents will select an architect to work with them to draft a Master Plan, identify first phases and carry out this historic Resident Led realization of a brighter future. We look forward to bringing more residents into the planners group, potentially starting more than one group, holding community meetings, and engaging all residents in this historic effort.
