South First Street - Phase One

Phase One of South First Street features the construction of 62 brand new homes. These new homes (which are well underway!) will allow existing residents to move into brand new housing, enabling the remainder of the property for demotion and further redevelopment for South First Phase two. In addition solar panels, the new construction at South First Street will be certified Passive House, an ultra-low energy standard, making it the first public housing site in the state of Virginia to achieve that standard.

Construction is expected to be completed Fall 2022.
